Marseille Tarot

The Tarot de Marseilles deck is an authentic reproduction of the popular deck restored by French scholars from the original woodcut images that date back to the early 16th Century with the earliest surviving card of the Marseilles pattern produced by Phillips Vachier in 1639. Originally created as an Italian card game produced in Milan it spread throughout the country and onwards to the rest of Europe where it led to the occult use of tarot cards in the 17th and 18th Centuries before the Rider-Waite-Smith deck was derived from the Marseilles deck.

Contains 78 full colour cards - 22 Major Arcana and 56 Minor arcana. The woodblock designs are titled in French.
