This mug is made from the light brown oxidising stoneware clay - note how the unglazed clay has different colours closer to the glazed areas. It is decorated with black leafy and floral transfers and jade coloured glaze with dark micro-crystals (mostly visible inside). The speckles from the clay created a unique effect in the glaze. This mug holds about 300ml/10oz
Weronika Filinger's first contact with clay and pottery was more than 20 years ago, but she didn't come back to it until after lockdown. She loves experimenting with different clays (black, grey, chocolate, buff, cream, white and red) and trying decorative techniques: carving, Sgraffito, applique and transfers. She also has a serious obsession with glazes, so no two pieces are the same. Though still at the start of her ceramics journey, Weronika hopes you will enjoy using her pieces as much as she enjoyed making them.
